Camera Buff (Polish:
Amator, meaning "amateur")
one of the greatest films of so called cinema of
moral concern has been arousing keen interest since
its release till today. At the end of the 70s, Krzysztof
Kieślowski targeted the film to the unrest generation
of the contemporary thirties, but the issues that the
film raises
– the limits of responsibility and courage, the
place and role of art in human life, have retained their
validity till today. The document talks about the making of and behind
the scene of
Camera Buff by Krzysztof Kieślowski.
Film producers ponder on the question of how many
personal themes of people involved in the production of
this film appeared in the work. They also wonder what
impact Kieślowski had on his associates and actors,
as well as on a group of amateur filmmakers from
which he took the realities for the scenario. Directors
Andrzej Jurga and Krzysztof Zanussi along with the
lead actor, Jerzy Stuhr, talk about the
Camera Buff.
In the film, the producers have also used the archival interviews
with Krzysztof Kieślowski.
