The bridge connecting the world of the living and the world of the dead was damaged in a storm. As a result, Maria is not informed about her demise on time and goes to work as if nothing happened. However, people around her begin to ignore her. Her loved ones see her but others seem to be unaware of her presence. Maria does not know what to do, she goes back to her family home, to the place she left when she was alive. Her body has already been brought there and traditional rituals have begun to prepare it for burial. Family tries to persuade Maria to see her body and face the reality. This is a necessary step for her to understand that she is dead. Coming to terms with her death is supposed to bring her and her loved ones relief. But Maria rebels. She refuses to die.
