A thrilling family saga about a great love – irrational, impossible, yet all the more beautiful. The series unfolds across multiple time frames and presents the fate of the Polish-Jewish Brok family. The youngest family member, Adam, is a talented financier and manager working for an American investment fund operating in Central Europe. His father, Benedykt, a well-known journalist, did not believe in the possibility of political change and, due to his conformity, loses his relationship with his son. On the other hand, his mother, Zuzanna, a former opposition activist with uncompromising views and ethical principles, tries to guide Adam in taking life decisions.
The series is a tribute to the female heroes of the Solidarity revolution, active in the Workers’ Defense Committee, an opposition organization that operated in Poland in 1976-77.
