During the award ceremony of in Media City in Leipzig, Marek Tomasz Pawłowski and Małgorzata Walczak received the highest laurels for the film "The Touch of an Angel" co-produced by TVP1 and WDR PG Dokumentation. 

In the category "Journalism on the Border Region" the Jury awarded the work of Kinga Wołoszyn-Kowandy and Krzysztof Czjka, part of „Kowalski and Schmidt“program in TVP Wrocław / RBB. The film " The Touch of an Angel" by Marek Tomasz Pawłowski and Małgorzata Walczak tells a story of a Holocaust survivor Henryk Schoenker, a son of Leon Schoenker, the chairman of the Jewish Community in Auschwitz. Jacek Kamiński, a Polish member of the Jury in the category Television pointed out that the awarded work stands on the border of the TV Theatre, a documentary and a feature film. 

Video processing (a black-and-white film is made from a still photography) proves that it is an example of the highest class of production.

Gabriela Wiatr who delivered the laudation for "Kowalski and Schmidt" program by Kinga Wołoszyn-Kowandy and Krzysztof Czajka emphasized that "the authors of the program had been accustoming their audience to a consistently high level of their work. The origins of the program date back to 1997, so it can be easily said that the program is an extremely valuable documentation of the evolution of mutual relations, sympathies and antipathies, trends, issues and joint ventures. 

It was the 19th edition of the Polish-German Journalism Award, which, since 2013 is named after Tadeusz Mazowiecki. A total of 116 works were submitted for the competiotion, 62 from Germany and 54 from Poland. The Polish-German Journalism Award is granted in the following categories: Press, Radio and Television. The amount of each award is 5000 euro.
