Almost 3.7 million people work in the 20 professions in Poland most susceptible to the impact of AI, said the report by the Polish Economic Institute (PIE).
Six in ten of these are women, despite the fact a greater number of men are employed overall.
Almost 2.2 million women work in positions, especially in services and sales, that are most at risk from the new technology, including automation.
Men, on the other hand, are less susceptible to these potential changes because they are far more involved in manual labor while women are more educated, taking up more positions which are exposed to AI.
According to the Polish Economic Institute, the financial and insurance sectors showed the highest levels of vulnerability to AI, reflecting the strong potential for leveraging such technology in process automation, data analytics and information management.
Adoption, not replacement
Despite impending changes, the report noted that hundreds of thousands of specialists might not necessarily have to retrain to take up radically different professions.
Instead, people working in jobs exposed to the influence of AI can expect that some of their tasks will be possible to perform by tools using artificial intelligence, which will likely boost performance and efficiency.
The report emphasizes that the data should not be interpreted as the number of jobs that will be replaced by artificial intelligence.
