According to PB, data from the economic information center COIG shows that in the first three months of 2024, as many as 112 Polish companies went bankrupt.

“A year ago, there were 105 bankruptcies. There is an even higher increase in the number of restructurings. Within the first three months, as many as 1,166 cases were reported—10% more than in the previous year,” the daily states.

Quoted by the newspaper, Sylwia Szerenos, advisor at restructuring consultancy Continuum Restrukturyzacje, argued that the situation has worsened even though, in general, companies have been observing an improvement in liquidity and orders.

In her view, things are looking up for the trade, manufacturing, and service industries. On the other hand, transport is, in her opinion, in more trouble due to a decrease in the number of orders and the lack of new investments.
