It will be the first meeting held in Poland since the country joined the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) 25 years ago.

“The meeting will be attended by about 50 delegations; an estimated 200–250 participants are likely to join the meeting (ministers from OECD and candidate countries and representatives of partner organizations),” it added.

The Prime Minister’s Office said that Poland is set to “strengthen the debate on regional policy” and its role in building the resilience of regions, cities and rural areas in Europe and OECD countries.

Officials say Poland’s standing, both domestically and internationally, will benefit from the event.

Referring to the four-year OECD program aimed at reconstructing the country, adopted in 2023, the Prime Minister’s Office stated that it could also reinforce international measures towards the reconstruction of Ukraine.

The OECD is a forum where the governments of 38 democracies with market-based economies collaborate to develop policy standards to promote sustainable economic growth.
