“Of course, we don’t have the final value of this project, but one can imagine that it will probably be around PLN 150 billion,” Jan Chadam told an energy conference on Thursday.

“We are at the stage of preparing the financing… especially the debt component will be determined at the moment,” he added.

PEJ’s board has talked to consortia of so-called financial advisors who will help PEJ to look for money on global markets, Chadam added.

“We are of course counting on the participation of Exim (Export–Import Bank of the United States), which supports all U.S. export projects,” Chadam said.

Seven Polish companies to assist construction

Earlier on April 9, Westinghouse CEO Patrick Fragman announced its selection of seven Polish companies to assist in the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Pomerania.

Among the companies chosen by Westinghouse are Polimex Mostostal Siedlce, Baltic Operator from the Baltic Industrial Group, Mostostal Kielce, Mostostal Kraków, ZKS Ferrum, Famak, and Energomontaż-Północ Gdynia.

The chosen Polish firms had said they were ready to commence work on individual modules immediately.
