According to Italian media, including the regional daily Il Tirreno, the billionaire has shown interest in historic properties in Tuscany. During a visit in November 2024, Musk reportedly toured sites such as Bibbiano Castle near Siena and Montepò Castle near Scansano.

However, the owners of both properties have said that neither is for sale.

The mayor boasted of the castle’s rich history and strategic location, pointing to its proximity to airports in the cities of Katowice and Wrocław, which lie within 400 km of several European capitals.

Głogówek Castle has changed hands many times over the centuries, serving various functions, including as a youth hostel, regional museum, art gallery and cultural center.

Since 2013, it has been owned by the municipal authorities.

Musk has not publicly responded to the mayor’s proposal, and his plans for establishing a European HQ remain unconfirmed.
