The esteemed actress will assume the role of chairperson of the jury at this year’s EnergaCAMERIMAGE International Cinematography Film Festival, as revealed by The Hollywood Reporter.

Marek Żydowicz, the festival director, commented on Blanchett’s selection as chairperson of the jury: “Cate Blanchett is an outstanding artist who defies all definitions. She inspires people around the world, including the greatest contemporary artists.”

He added: “I am incredibly proud and happy that she has accepted our invitation and agreed to serve as the chairperson of the main competition jury.”

Cate Blanchett has won Oscars for her roles in the films “The Aviator” and “Blue Jasmine”. Her portrayal of Katharine Hepburn in “The Aviator” etched her name in history as the sole actor to clinch an Oscar for portraying another Oscar-winning icon. Moreover, she has also amassed an impressive eight nominations for the Academy Award for her roles in films such as “Elizabeth,” “Notes on a Scandal,” “Elizabeth: The Golden Age,” and “I’m Not There” (in the same year, for both leading and supporting actress), “Carol,” and most recently “Tár” (trailer below).



Blanchett’s versatile talent has also shone in iconic franchises like “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit” trilogies, and in acclaimed films including “The Talented Mr. Ripley,” “Babel,” “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” “Cinderella,” and “Thor: Ragnarok.”

In recent years, she starred in “Nightmare Alley” and “Don’t Look Up.”

Among her upcoming projects are action film “Borderlands,” “Father, Mother, Sister, Brother,” and the miniseries “Disclaimer.”

This year’s edition of the EnergaCAMERIMAGE festival will take place from November 16th to 23rd in Toruń.
