It has been listed among 15 top film schools including France’s La Fémis, the Czech Republic’s FAMU, and China’s Beijing Film Academy.

The Polish school has regularly featured in the list since 2020.

The Hollywood Reporter highlighted that the Łódź Film School is one of the oldest such institutions in Europe and boasts an impressive alumni roster, including Oscar-winning directors Roman Polański and Andrzej Wajda, the legendary auteur Krzysztof Kieślowski, and a remarkable number of world-class cinematographers like Paweł Edelman, Dariusz Wolski and Łukasz Żal.

The Łódź school’s website congratulated its faculty, students and staff, writing: “Your talent, hard work, and dedication help us maintain our high standards, recognized both nationally and globally.”

The Hollywood Reporter, an industry magazine in publication since 1930 in the United States, is known for its comprehensive coverage of film, television and entertainment.

Its annual ranking of the world’s best film schools highlights institutions that offer exceptional programs in filmmaking, cinematography and related fields.
