Each year the Warsaw Tourism Office publishes the results of their research that contains information about tourism in the city, from all the Polish capital has to offer to information on its development.
According to the “Tourism in Warsaw” report, in 2022 alone, Warsaw was visited by 9 million people. Polish tourists constituted 7.1 million of the arrivals and 1.9 million people came from abroad, mainly from Germany and the United Kingdom.
“The report shows that after the break in travel caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, tourists choose our city more and more often again,” Paweł Moras, the President of the Warsaw Tourism Office said on Wednesday.
“It’s very good news also for our residents, as 80% of the people living in Warsaw notice that the developments in tourism positively impact their lives as well,” he added.
European Best Destination 2023
In February 2023, Warsaw won first place in the prestigious European Best Destination 2023 contest where travelers from all over the world voted to determine the most attractive tourist destination in a given year.
“We are happy to hold the title of ‘European Best Destination 2023’,” Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski said.
“Beautiful, friendly, green, open-minded, perfect for a family city break, a cultural city break, a shopping experience, a romantic stay, Warsaw, your European Best Destinations 2023 has something to offer for everyone,” the official
European Best Destinations website wrote about the Polish capital.
