‘Anti-Iranian’ people are joyous at Iranian president’s death, says academic As the world grapples with the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi following a crash of the helicopter in which he was traveling, Makram Rabah, Assistant Professor of History at the American University of Beirut, says that opinions are divided. He says, “Many of the people who are anti-Iranian are joyous [due to the death of Raisi], and they are making fun of how the Iranian regime is uncapable (sic) of rescuing their own president, and they had to go to the Turks for help.”
