The Belarusian military monitoring group
“Belarusian Hajun” claims that units of the 19th Mechanized Brigade have been deployed there (1 separate mechanized battalion, 4 separate tank battalions, and two military units).
The amount of equipment delivered corresponds to an incomplete mechanized battalion reinforced by a tank company. This includes
four personnel carriers, three covered wagons (with equipment and ammunition), and 39 flatbed wagons.
On Monday, Belarus announced a state of combat readiness. The military did not rule out the possibility that, as a result, civilian transportation movements might be restricted.
On March 1st, Lithuania closed two more border crossings with Belarus:
Lavoriškės and Rajgród. Only the checkpoints in
Medininkai and Šalčininkai remain operational.
