During a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the NATO summit, U.S. President Joe Biden revealed a new military aid package for Ukraine. However, he did not provide specifics about the aid, promising that details would be disclosed later.
Biden emphasized Ukraine's resilience, highlighting Ukraine’s success in thwarting Russia’s Kharkiv offensive.
“I'm proud to announce a new security systems package for Ukraine. This will be the eighth package I've authorized since we signed the national security bill,” Biden said.
“We show the world that we stand with Ukraine, now and in the future,” he added.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the United States for its support and mentioned plans to discuss achieving a "just peace" with Biden.
He also mentioned his intention to organize “a second peace summit this year.”
According to Bloomberg, Ukraine aims to hold the summit before the upcoming U.S. presidential elections, with participation from Russia and China. Zelenskyy did not directly address these reports during the meeting.
