The statement by Ambassador Sun Linjiang was sent to the Polish Press Agency (PAP) on Friday, shortly before Polish President Andrzej Duda’s visit to China, where he will meet President Xi Jinping and attend the opening of the World Economic Forum in Dalian.
Booming trade
The ambassador said that over the last five years, the average annual growth rate of bilateral trade had exceeded 10%.
He added that bilateral trade had exceeded $40 billion in three consecutive years and that Poland had become China's largest trade partner in Central Europe.
Sun Linjiang also wrote that there were over 100 Chinese companies operating in Poland and that the value of their direct investments in the country exceeded $4 billion.
Agricultural deals
According to the ambassador, Polish agricultural produce are well-known and appreciated by Chinese consumers.
He added that, in 2023, the two countries signed deals on exports of Polish beef and blueberries to China and that Polish dairy products and pet food would soon be available on the Chinese market.
The ambassador expressed hope that, under the leadership of the two presidents, China and Poland would strengthen mutual political trust, reach a consensus regarding their cooperation, and write a new chapter of friendship between the two countries.
