“If the United States is worried about China, then they should first worry about Russia (...) we have to work together in this,” Kaja Kallas said.

"Whatever happens in Europe also has an effect on the United States,” she added.

Kallas also voiced cautious support for the nascent Syrian government following the collapse of strongman leader Bashar al-Assad's regime.

“We are reopening our embassy in Syria so that we have the first contacts and information from the ground,” she said.
