Adam Bodnar assured that all newly identified cases would undergo thorough analysis to ensure that
both spies and legitimate targets remained unaware of the surveillance. Notably, not all newly discovered cases would involve public figures.
A dedicated investigative commission within the Polish Sejm, the lower house of parliament, has been tasked with probing the
alleged misuse of Pegasus, a surveillance system developed by Israeli company NSO.
Bodnar told a press conference on Saturday that the prosecution service had sent letters to 31 people to inform them that they have witness status in the case.
“However, it is the case that this is the first group,” Bodnar said.
“There will be more.
They will not only be public figures, those that we have known about so far,” he added
He went on to say that the process of analyzing the data and identifying subjects was detailed and time-consuming and would take many months, "not a month or two."
