Following high-level meetings in Washington on Monday and Tuesday, Paweł Kowal, head of Poland’s parliamentary foreign affairs commission and a key figure in the Ukraine rebuilding initiative, said rebuilding efforts should gain momentum in the second half of 2025.

Kowal told the Polish Press Agency: “Right now it looks like everyone is preparing for the reconstruction next year, that it will start soon.

“I estimate that it will start in the second half of next year.

“We have had some sort of informal consultations with the Americans here. We are focusing on preparing (...) Polish-American initiatives.
“I am thinking, for example, about supporting small businesses, but for now it is a matter of the future.

He added: “Poland will be a logistics hub to an even greater extent than before. It is actually hard to imagine this reconstruction without Poland.”

But he also called on more Polish companies to join the government’s rebuilding program, saying: “We have greater opportunities than we are currently using.

“I keep appealing to companies to apply, we need more willing companies.”
