“Above all, we call on the Russian Federation to stop terrorist attacks from the air on the residents and territory of Ukraine and to end the war and deal with the country's internal problems,” he said.

“We express our sympathy to the victims of the Russian bombing and their relatives. The Republic of Poland condemns all forms of terrorism and attempts to revise borders by force,” Wroński wrote.

Deputy Prime Minister, head of the Ministry of Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz responded to the situation on social media platform X.

“Due to the violation of Polish airspace by a cruise missile launched by the long-range aircraft of the Russian Federation, all procedures were immediately launched. I am in contact with the President, Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chief of General Staff and Operational Commander of the Armed Forces. We are constantly monitoring the situation.”

“If there had been any indication that the Russian missile that violated Polish airspace was heading towards a target in Poland, it would have been shot down,” he added. The Armed Forces Operational Command (DO RSZ) detailed the events on X.

On March 24 this year at 4:23 a.m., there was a violation of Polish airspace by one of the cruise missiles launched by the long-range aviation of the Russian Federation. The targets of the strikes were localities located in western Ukraine.”

“The object flew into Polish space at the height of the village of Oserdów (Lubelskie province) and stayed there for 39 seconds,” the DO RSZ communiqué wrote, stressing that it was observed by military radar systems throughout the flight.

Earlier on Sunday, the DO RSZ reported that it was “observing tonight intensive long-range aviation activity of the Russian Federation, related to air and missile strikes against facilities located on Ukrainian territory.”

"We warn that Polish and allied aircraft have been activated, which may be associated with the occurrence of increased noise levels, especially in the southeastern area of the country," it said.

During the night, authorities in the Lviv region reported a Russian missile attack and the activation of air defenses. An air alert is in effect throughout Ukraine in connection with the launch of cruise missiles by Tu-95MS strategic bombers.
