The initiative, launched by Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala in May, has so far raised over €1.6bn from 15 EU and NATO countries to help Ukraine defend itself against Russia. Poland had promised €50m this year and another €50m in 2025, but the funds have not yet been transferred.

Speaking at a press conference alongside his Ukrainian counterpart, Andrii Sybiha, Sikorski attributed the delay to an investigation into irregularities in Poland’s Government Strategic Reserves Agency (RARS).

The agency’s former head, identified only as Michal K., was recently detained in London on a European Arrest Warrant, and accused of abusing his position for financial gain.

Despite the setback, Sikorski said that Poland remains committed to its pledge and said the issue would be resolved. "We stand by our offer, and we will settle this matter as a priority," he said.

The funds are part of ongoing international efforts to provide Ukraine with vital military supplies as it continues to resist Russia’s invasion.
