The move will see 20 Polish soldiers travel to the French capital to help the French armed forces secure infrastructure as well as to advise on counter-terrorism measures.
The Polish forces will offer their support from June 24 until the end of September in order to cover both the main event and the Paralympics. The Summer Olympics will take place in Paris from July 26 until August 11 and the Paralympics from August 28 to September 8.
The head of Poland’s National Security Bureau, Jacek Siewiera, who announced the move, met in Paris on Wednesday with President Emmanuel Macron’s military advisor, General Fabien Mandon.
