Africa, Caribbean, Pacific States
The agreement with the Organization of African, Caribbean, and Pacific States (OACPS), signed in the capital of Samoa, Apia, on November 15, 2023, broadens EU cooperation to include political partnership.
It focuses on “human rights, democracy, governance, peace and security, social development, sustainable and inclusive economic growth, environmental sustainability, climate change, and migration and mobility.”
Chile
The advanced framework agreement with Chile, signed in Brussels on December 13, 2023, expands collaboration in areas such as human rights, counter-terrorism, health, the environment, climate change, energy, taxes, education, culture, science, and technology.
It also covers legal cooperation, the rule of law, anti-money laundering, counter-terrorism financing, organized crime, and corruption.
United Nations
The third agreement, signed in New York on September 21, 2023, between the Polish government and the United Nations, establishes a UNOPS representation in Warsaw.
This office will enhance the participation of the Polish private sector in UN projects and aid in Ukraine's reconstruction, with a branch in the southeastern city of Rzeszów to support companies involved in these efforts.
Other bills
In addition to the international agreements, President Duda signed two important bills on Friday.
The first bill amends the Public Finance Act to enhance fiscal management. The second addresses accessibility for individuals with special needs updates, public document regulations and improves state assistance for housing savings.
