President wants two security summits during Poland’s EU presidency Andrzej Duda, Poland’s president, has said he wants the country’s presidency of the European Union to supervise two summits of the bloc’s leaders devoted to security issues.

President Duda argued that the proposal of holding two security summits "could do a lot for the EU as well as for Poland's position within it."

Duda went on to say that one of the proposed summits should be a meeting of EU and US delegations and the other, EU-Ukraine talks. Poland’s EU presidency will have a heavy emphasis on security issues, Duda explained.

The president also expressed hope that he could count on strong cooperation with the Polish government in organizing the events.

"I would like for us to have good co-operation during the setting-up of those great events, so we may host them with dignity," he said.
