Putin either ordered or allowed for murder of Navalny, says Polish Foreign Minister “Putin allowed or ordered – we don’t know exactly – the murder of Navalny during the Munich Security Conference… the situation is starting to get really serious,” said the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorski, in Brussels after the end of Monday’s meeting between the foreign ministers of European Union member states.

“Putin allowed or ordered – we don’t know exactly – the murder of Navalny during the Munich Security Conference… the situation is starting to get really serious,” said the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorski, in Brussels after the end of Monday’s meeting between the foreign ministers of European Union member states.

Sikorski said that he and other ministers support the demand made by Yulia Navalnaya, the widow of the Russian oppositionist, to impose sanctions on Russia for the death of her husband.

“This is a new issue, let’s give countries time to reflect,” he added.

Asked when sanctions could be imposed, he replied that no time can be wasted on this matter. “Putin allowed or ordered – we do not know exactly – the murder of Navalny during the Munich Security Conference. He does not seem to care about the political effects. The situation is becoming really serious,” he emphasized. Sikorski also regretted that there was still no progress as to the supply of ammunition to Ukraine.

“I regret to say that there is no progress in this matter [ammunition supplies to Ukraine]. There are countries that are still blocking the establishment of a special line of financing for Ukraine’s defense in the European Peace Facility [EPF], and there are no other sources in sight of financing the supplies”, explained the Polish foreign minister.

“The situation in Ukraine is becoming dramatic. I called for a decision to be made…As we know, Avdiivka has already fallen, the Russians are attacking in several directions and it is perhaps almost too late,” Sikorski warned.

Situation in Belarus

The head of Polish diplomacy also commented on the situation in Belarus.

“On behalf of several countries, I spoke on the issue of Belarus, where fake elections are also to take place. We all remember that the last presidential elections were rigged. We all remember that the wave of repression in Belarus is not subsiding. These are, in proportion to the population, worse repressions than in our country during martial law [imposed on December 13, 1981 – TVP World]. I would like to remind you that today there are more political prisoners in Russia and Belarus than during Leonid Brezhnev’s time in the Soviet Union,” Sikorski emphasized.

“Since the stolen presidential elections [in 2020], Belarus has made its territory available for aggression against Ukraine and allowed the deployment of Russian nuclear weapons on its territory,” the Polish FM pointed out.
