Russian troops in occupied Crimea have deployed an anti-aircraft missile system close to a beach in Sevastopol, thereby posing a threat to civilians, the Ukrainian Tatar resistance movement Atesh reported.

Atesh is a military partisan movement in Ukraine and Russia, formed in September 2022 amidst Russia’s invasion.

Crimea, internationally recognized as part of Ukraine, was annexed by Russia in March 2014 following military intervention and an illegal referendum.

“This time the Rashists [Russians] have chosen another ‘ideal’ spot to place their anti-aircraft missile system. It was placed right above the beach, once again threatening the local population,” the organization wrote on Telegram adding photos of the anti-aircraft missile system.

Atesh pointed out that Ukrainian troops have been systematically attacking Russian radar stations and missile systems in Crimea “creating a corridor” to the bridge over the Kerch Strait, which connects the peninsula to Russia.
The group also suggested that it will take the necessary measures to eliminate the “illegal construction” saying that time is running out for the anti-aircraft missile system.

Sevastopol is the main base of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet.
