Radosław Sikorski said on Monday that the situation in the Middle East was escalating and “unfortunately no scenario can be ruled out,” following an Israeli attack on central Beirut Monday morning.
The latest airstrike comes after Lebanon’s health ministry reported 105 people had been killed and another 359 injured by Israeli strikes across the country on Sunday.
Sikorski told Polish radio station TOK FM: “We appeal again, as we have done many times, for our compatriots who do not need to be in Lebanon to leave the region, because it has become very dangerous.
“Of course, we have various contingency plans, but we advise not to expose yourselves to unnecessary danger,” he added.
According to Lebanese officials, over 1,000 people have been killed and 6,000 wounded since Israel began striking Hezbollah targets two weeks ago, adding that a million people have been forced to flee their homes.
Towns on both sides of the Israel-Lebanon border were evacuated shortly after the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel last year.
Since then, Hezbollah, which controls southern Lebanon, has regularly shelled Israel in solidarity with the Palestinian group.
In September, Israel began pounding Hezbollah targets and has continued to do so despite calls from the U.S. and other allies for a ceasefire.
