A gunman shot Trump in the ear at a rally in Butler County, Pennsylvania, on Saturday evening. The attack left one spectator dead and two others critically injured.

The gunman was shot dead by Secret Service agents.

Duda took to social media to condemn the assassination attempt and wish his former U.S. counterpart a speedy recovery.

He wrote: “The assassination attempt on President Donald Trump is a shocking moment not just for America but for the whole free and democratic world.”

Polish Prime Minister Donal Tusk also commented on the incident.

“Violence is never the answer to political differences in a democracy,” he wrote on X.
