Speaking at a meeting of the Security Agencies Council set up to investigate Russian and Belarusian influence in Polish politics, Tusk said: “After listening to the Commander of the Border Guard, I will be at the border with Belarus tomorrow morning with officers and soldiers.”
The announcement comes amid reports that hundreds of migrants from Asia and Africa are being taken to Belarus’s border with Poland, raising fears that they may be preparing for a mass assault on the border.
According to reports, the migrants are being driven from the capital Minsk in private cars owned by officers of OMON, a Belarusian law enforcement force under the country’s Interior Ministry.
