In an interview with the Ukrainian joint 24/7 television broadcaster, Zelenskyy said:
“I have asked the Minister of National Defense to consider what models of drones we can export, but I exclude exports that could be dangerous for us and end up even in Russia.
“We can only export drones to countries in the Ramstein group because they helped us with arms supplies,” he said.
At the same time, the president added that Ukraine, “with all due respect,” has no obligation to export drones to countries in the Middle East and other countries that have not helped it with arms supplies.
Zelenskyy went on to say that the Ukrainian Defense Ministry is working on preparing multi-year export contracts for the best Ukrainian drones.
The Ramstein group is an alliance that formed after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022 with the aim to support Ukraine militarily. It consists of 57 countries: 32 NATO member states and 25 other countries.
