Andrii Sybiha became Ukraine’s Foreign Minister on Thursday following a dramatic shake-up of the country’s wartime cabinet that saw about half of it dismissed, including his predecessor Dmytro Kuleba.
On Friday morning, Sybiha wrote on X: “This morning, I had my first phone call as Ukraine’s Foreign Minister with my Polish counterpart @RadekSikorski to reaffirm the Ukrainian-Polish strategic partnership and good-neighbourly relations.”
“In a sign of respect, we held the conversation in Polish. I look forward to welcoming my Polish colleague to Kyiv soon.”
The Ukrainian minister also told Sikorski about the situation on the frontlines and said it was important to keep strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities.
