The two M142 wheeled rocket launchers complete a weapons deal from 2019.
Poland’s ministry of defense ordered one HIMARS squadron from the U.S., including 18 combat launchers, and additional launchers for training purposes.
The Polish Armament Agency, which is tied to the defense ministry, wrote on the X platform: “The last two of the twenty HIMARS multi-mission rocket launchers purchased in February 2019 have checked in to Poland.”
The M142 HIMARS system allows for the launching of multiple, precision-guided rockets.
Amid heightened security concerns following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Poland has been looking to enhance its military capabilities.
In April, Warsaw signed a 6 billion zloty contract to buy over 70 missile launchers from South Korea.
Poland has also ordered
FA-50 aircraft, K9 self-propelled howitzers and
Chunmoo rocket launchers from South Korean manufacturers.
