Daniel Fried said the U.S. “should stop being public about our [American weapons] restrictions on Ukraine.

“It simply gives the Russians an opportunity to try to manipulate us,” he said.

He was speaking as U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken concluded visits to Kyiv and Warsaw.

This week, Blinken paid visits to three strategic European partners. The trip came ahead of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to the United States later this month.
