Tate, a former kickboxer who has 9.9 million followers on X, was charged last year along with his brother Tristan with rape, human trafficking, and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women.

Both men have denied the charges and claim there is a conspiracy against them.

They are currently awaiting trial.

But on Wednesday, Romania’s elite anti-organized crime unit, DIICOT, released a video of masked officers storming the pairs’ compound in the Romanian capital, Bucharest.

After seemingly attempting to break down the front door with a battering ram, the footage shows officers mounting a ladder against one of the building’s walls to gain access through the roof.

Other footage shows an aerial shot of the compound grounds and two men, one shirtless, being arrested.

In a statement, DIICOT said that the raid was connected to “a criminal case regarding the commission of the crimes of forming an organized criminal group, trafficking in minors, trafficking in people, sexual intercourse with a minor, influencing statements and money laundering.”

It added that it was carrying out searches at four homes in Bucharest and nearby Ilfov County.

In response to the raids, Tate’s spokesperson, Mateea Petrescu, said that “although the charges in the search warrant are not yet fully clarified, they include suspicions of human trafficking and money laundering.”

The Tate brothers, who grew up in Luton in the U.K., are self-described misogynists who have been widely criticized for their views.

Andrew Tate, 37, appeared on the U.K. version of Big Brother in 2016 and is known for promoting a masculine lifestyle and denigrating women.

He was previously banned from several social media platforms for his views and for hate speech.
