The *Ukrainska Pravda* news portal reported the discovery on Sunday, citing local authorities.

Kramatorsk Mayor Oleksandr Honcharenko confirmed the finding. “Rescuers found the body of the deceased under the rubble,” he said. Ukrainian police identified the victim as a 40-year-old British citizen employed by international media.

The Sapphire Hotel was hosting a team of Reuters journalists at the time of the attack. Initial reports from Reuters confirmed one of their team members went missing after the shelling.

Earlier on Sunday morning, Vadym Filashkin, head of the regional administration, reported that four Reuters journalists were injured in the attack, from multiple nationalities, including Latvia, Ukraine, the United States, and Germany.

Reuters later clarified that six journalists from their team were staying at the hotel when the attack occurred. Among them, two had sustained injuries, while one remained unaccounted for until Sunday’s tragic confirmation.

During the same shelling, a Polish journalist unassociated with Reuters, Monika Andruszewska, also suffered injuries while driving in Kramatorsk delivering aid.
