Footage posted online shows the vest-wearing 32-year-old tearing down a stretch of road in the seaside resort in north Poland on Wednesday, while weaving dangerously between cars before entering a tunnel. But two days later, police caught up with the man after he was pulled over while driving a BMW without a license.

Seeing that the man was overly agitated, they decided to carry out a blood test.

Posting on X, officers said: “The police from Gdańsk have detained a 32-year-old man who they suspect of having ‘bragged’ on social media a few days ago about driving 299 km/h in the tunnel under the Martwa Wisła in Gdańsk. “The man was detained yesterday evening while driving a BMW without a license. The 32-year-old was agitated, so he was tested for the presence of drugs in his body.”

The post added police were now analyzing the video footage along with other videos posted online by the man and that the material would be sent to the prosecutor’s office.
