Taking off from an airfield in the city of Bydgoszcz on Sunday, the man identified only as Aleksander took girlfriend Oliwia on the helicopter ride of her life by instructing the pilot to spell out “Marry Me” on a flight tracking app, beneath a giant heart.
By the time they landed, they were engaged.
Aleksander told private broadcaster TVN that he and the pilot had “planned the flight for several weeks so as not to disrupt air traffic.
“Since mid-October, when everything was ready, we waited for the right weather and conditions.”
After an hour and a half of flying high, the pilot signaled that everything was set.
Aleksander said: “I told Oliwka to check the flight path on Flightradar24.
“When she saw it, she was shocked. I took out the ring, and she said ‘yes.’”
Since posting the story on its social media, tracking app Flightradar24 has been flooded with comments from delighted plane spotters and over 3,000 likes.
Aleksander said: “After landing, it turned out that our flight was the number one observed on Flightradar24.”
