According to the findings, among the 49% who favor hybrid arrangements, 29% prefer predominantly remote work, while 20% lean more towards stationary work.

The study shows that 35% of respondents prefer fully office-based work, while 16% expressed a preference for fully remote work.

One in five respondents highlighted that the appropriate work mode is a crucial factor influencing their choice of workplace.

The survey also reveals that 76% of Polish job seekers are positively influenced by a company’s openness to diverse work arrangements with nearly 74% having a favorable view of those organizations that offer a balance between remote and office work.

Office or remote work?

In terms of remote versus office-based work, 40% of respondents positively evaluate job offers that are exclusively remote, without any office visits. Additionally, 74% prefer job offers where employers provide support, either materially or financially, for setting up home offices for remote or hybrid work. Conversely, 26% of respondents view fully remote work negatively and are less likely to apply for such positions.
Among those currently seeking remote work, 15% cite their current employer’s inability to provide remote options as the reason. Conversely, 2% indicate a desire to work from an office, while their current employer offers only remote work. Furthermore, 17% of respondents are not actively job hunting because their current workplace allows tasks to be performed in a suitable format.

According to the survey, 15% of Poles are currently looking for remote work because their current employer does not allow it. In contrast, 2% point to the reverse situation where they want to work from an office, but their current employer only offers fully remote work. Meanwhile, 17% of respondents state that they are not currently looking for work because they can perform tasks in a suitable form at their current place of employment.

Using filters in job search

In turn, 55% of respondents indicated that when job hunting, they would use a filter narrowing down offers to those with remote or hybrid work.

As reported by Pracuj.pl, 63% of all advertisements published from January to June this year concerned stationary work. For hybrid work, it was about a quarter of the advertisements, and for fully remote work, only 9%.

The study “Work Models in the New Reality” was conducted in March 2024 by ARC Rynek i Opinia on behalf of Pracuj.pl. The measurement was carried out using the Computer-Assisted Web Interviewing (CAWI) method on a sample of 2,059 Poles aged 18-65.
