The police, together with the officers from the National Revenue Administration, arrested the suspect on his way back from Duesseldorf. The police did not specify when the arrest took place.
“The passenger was behaving very suspiciously,” Justyna Pasieczynska from the National Revenue Administration said on Wednesday.
“He got off the coach through the back door and approached the luggage hold. However, instead of collecting his luggage, he nervously looked around and started walking towards the station building.”
Instead of food, the search revealed 1.6 kg of cocaine in plastic bags concealed in three cans. Urine tests confirmed the presence of narcotics in the man’s system.
The Nigerian has been living in Poland for 10 years.
The Warszawa-Ochota Regional Prosecutor’s Office has already opened an investigation into the case.
’Nigerian fraud’
Last month, an organized criminal group, whose members operated in Poland and other European countries, was arrested by police officers from Wałbrzych and Wrocław. They scammed at least PLN 1 million from the victims using the ‘Nigerian fraud’ method.
They opened bank accounts in Poland, pretended to be American soldiers, claimed that they required money urgently, and defrauded Polish women.
The police secured computer equipment, cell phones, over PLN 25,000 in cash, and smaller quantities of drugs.
They detained six males who could spend up to eight years in prison.
