Incidents in Gniezno and northern regions of Poland have raised concerns after parents found sharp objects embedded in the treats, prompting warnings from local law enforcement.

Needle in candy

The first incident came to light in Gniezno, a city in central Poland, where police received an alert from the mother of an 11-year-old boy who discovered a needle inside a piece of candy.

The child received the tampered candy on Thursday while trick-or-treating in the neighborhood.

“The boy received a candy that had a needle inside,” a spokesperson for the Gniezno police confirmed. “We are now working to identify who is responsible.”

Nails, pins, sharp objects

A similar report surfaced in northern Poland, where multiple children reportedly received candy containing pieces of sharp metal.

The head of Godziszewo village shared photos of the contaminated candy on social media, accompanied by a warning to parents.

The images revealed fragments of metal embedded within the treats given to children during Halloween festivities in the Kociewie area.

Local media outlet Radio Gdańsk quickly picked up the story, amplifying concerns among residents.

The Starogard Gdański Police are now involved in the investigation and have issued a public appeal for any information regarding the incidents.

“We are trying to reach people who may have information on the matter,” said a spokesman for the Starogard Gdański Police. “So far, no one has been found to have suffered harm.”

Police have urged parents to carefully examine all candy their children received on Halloween. Law enforcement has also advised the public to remain vigilant as the investigation continues.
