Sławosz Uznański, soon to become the second Pole in space, will begin training in Houston on August 5.

“This weekend I'm moving to Houston, U.S. On Monday I start training at Axiom Space, followed by SpaceX and NASA,” he wrote on X. Launching from Cape Canaveral, Florida, aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon capsule, Uznański will embark on a mission to the ISS, scheduled to last approximately two weeks.

Experiments

During his stay on the ISS, Uznański is to conduct 18 experiments, leveraging the station's unique microgravity environment to test technologies untestable on Earth.

Key projects include LeopardISS, which aims to enhance AI algorithms for navigation and autonomous decision-making in space, and 0G-CARE, studying the effectiveness of cancer drugs in microgravity.

Additional experiments will involve biodegradable drug delivery systems and genetic analysis of astronauts' blood cells, potentially revolutionizing both space exploration and medical technology.
