The Woda bakery club in the central city of Bydgoszcz triumphed over competitors from London, Istanbul and Krakow in the prestigious Restaurant & Bar Design Awards’ Cafe category.
The 15-year-old annual contest celebrates the most spectacular restaurant, cafe and bar interiors from around the world, with thousands of esteemed and emerging designers hoping to win the coveted award.
This year’s cafe winner, the Woda bakery club, wowed judges with its aesthetics and dual-purpose concept of cafe and bakery club.
Designed by the Wrocław-based architectural studio Znamy Się and architect Paweł Tatar, the venue is divided into two distinct sections, "Woda" operates as an artisanal bakery by day and a clubbing hotspot by night.
The interior boasts eye-catching cobalt flooring and a slick bar that inspires a sense of modern elegance.
An orange circle pays tribute to the colors of a setting sun, while the deep blue represents the river that surrounds the club-bakery, which is situated on an island.
The venue also features an open kitchen, allowing guests to watch the baking process unfold.
Since its opening in May 2023, Woda has quickly become a new landmark for the region, earning acclaim for its innovative design and cultural significance.
