The banner called on the Russian dictator to “put things in order with Ukraine, Brussels, and our [Polish] rulers.”

After questioning the man, police handed the case over to the Gliwice prosecutors' office in southern Poland, which will now investigate it under the law dealing with public propagation of Nazism, communism, fascism, or other totalitarian regimes and incitement to hatred.

“The scandalous banner, the photo of which circulated on the Internet, was immediately removed and secured by the Polish Police,” Interior and Administration Minister Marcin Kierwiński wrote on X. “The police and the prosecutor's office are taking action against its creator. There will be no consent to such criminal activities.” he added.

If found guilty, the tractor driver could face up to three years in jail.

Farmers in Poland are striking across the country against unfair competition from cheaper Ukrainian imports.
