In a press release sent to the Polish Press Agency (PAP), the Polish Red Cross summarized the support granted to Ukrainian citizens since Russia’s invasion on February 24, 2022. It said that 965 shipments had been sent to Ukraine carrying food and hygiene and medical goods as well as industrial power generators.

More than 9,000 Ukrainian refugees have received medical assistance at reception points on the Polish-Ukrainian border, the Red Cross said, most of them women, children and senior citizens.

Red Cross volunteers have made food, drinking water, blankets and warm clothes available to refugees crossing the border, the press release said.

The Polish Red Cross said the generators delivered to Ukraine were worth PLN 5 million (EUR 1.16 mln) and had enabled schools and hospitals to continue functioning. In addition, 5,800 tons of humanitarian aid has been provided across Ukraine.

The organization also runs Integration Centers, where classes are held for adults and children, including professional training and language lessons.
