Rising to nationwide fame after a chance encounter with TikTok personality Kamil Trela, the feathered star became adored nationwide for his “charming personality” and the bond he shared with Trela.

Goose-mania saw a surge in demand for toy geese across the country, with children and youngsters captivated by the six-year-old bird’s online antics.

Announcing his death on Facebook, Wake Park Tarnobrzeg in the south of the country where he lived said: “It is with regret and great sadness in our hearts that we inform you that Gąsior Pipa, whom we all loved so much, passed away the day before yesterday.

“For the past few years, he was our companion, rascal, joy and the true Personality of Wake.

“We believe that he only moved to another dimension, to another extraterrestrial lake.

“The time will come when we will see him spreading his wings proudly and contentedly again.

“See you soon Pipa.”

Upon hearing the news, Trela took to social media, where he posted a series of emotional tributes. In one, he wrote: “He wasn’t just a gander to me but a true buddy.”

In another, he said: “I'll miss you, chum. I just realized today how much.

“Pipus, what we did together is legendary. Thank you!!!”

He added that the goose had passed away at the end of October with a veterinarian present to ensure his comfort in his final moments.

There has now been an outpouring of grief on social media from Trela-Pipa fans.

One posted on Trela’s Instagram: “What you showed us how a human can build a bond with an animal is dope something ended but no one can take the memories away.”

Another commented: “May his soul rest in peace. Cool I was able to meet him and visit him and now he is gone.”

Yet another said simply: “My heart is still crying.”
