Two Polish divers die exploring shipwreck in Malta Two divers, both Polish nationals, have died while exploring a wreck in the Marsascala region of Malta, the “Times of Malta” has reported.

According to the daily, the two victims were with a diving school exploring Le Polynesien, a World War I wreck at a depth of 50 meters, when the incident happened on Saturday.

One of the victims, aged 45, found himself in difficulty while exploring the wreck prompting the second diver to try and help him.

The two divers were brought ashore and taken to a local hospital where one was certified dead shortly after. The other, aged 48, was pronounced dead later.

The police are investigating the incident.
