In Friday’s semi-final, Urbański fought a fierce battle with German Festim Nimani. Despite running into trouble in the opening two rounds, he fought back bravely, boxing on the front foot until the final seconds.

The final against Siramargyan, fighting on home territory in Armenia, was Urbański's sternest test. He took a 4:1 lead in the first round, 4:0 in the second and overcame the Armenian 4:1 (29-28, 29-28, 29-28, 29-28, 28-29).

The victory made Urbański the world junior champion in the 70kg category. The Pole is also a two-time medallist at the European Cadet Championships (bronze and silver), but this was his debut in the World Championships. It has been a successful world championship for Poland, with four medals. Zuzanna Gołębiewska (54 kg, RUSHH Kielce), Oskar Grodzicki (52 kg, Kujawia Boks Włocławek) and Igor Soczówka (54 kg, Skorpion Szczecin) all picked up bronze medals.
