The world No. 1 player, who says she is the hit show’s No. 1 fan, couldn’t contain her excitement after thrashing Ludmilla Samsonova 6-4, 6-1.

Speaking after the match, the 23-year-old said: “It’s great that I can play good tennis in front of such people.

“I try to avoid looking at the screens, but I saw him tonight when I was looking at the chair umpire.

“I wanted to stay focused and I hope he appreciates my mentality because this is what Ted Lasso is all about,” she said referring to Sudeikis’ onscreen character as a soccer coach of the same name.

Asked if she uses any of Lasso’s coaching tips, she said: “Just the positivity. “It’s a totally different sport because there it’s all about team spirit. Here a little bit as well with my team, but we’re alone on the court.” She added: “Such celebrity interest means that our sport is even more interesting.

“I already met Seal, so if I have more time, it would be nice to arrange a meeting with Jason Sudeikis too. We’ll see.”

With her sights set on a second US Open Grand Slam title, Świątek will face Jessica Pegula in the quarterfinals. Fans and celebrities alike will be watching closely as the young star continues her journey at Flushing Meadows. Whether or not Sudeikis becomes a permanent fixture in her cheering section, Świątek’s belief in her game—and maybe a little “Ted Lasso” magic—might just carry her all the way to the title.
