In the opening set, both Fręch and Gadecki consistently held their serve, leading to a tie-break. Despite being 4-5 down, Fręch bounced back to win three consecutive points to claim the set.

The Polish player began the second set in less assertive fashion, with Gadecki breaking her serve early on. However, the Pole displayed great spirit, breaking back in the fourth and eighth games to take a 5:3 lead.

Despite squandering a match point on her own serve, Fręch remained unperturbed and managed to break Gadecki's serve, taking the match with a precision backhand down the line. “The fourth round of the Australian Open, the final in Prague, and finally the title in Mexico—this is definitely the most incredible season of my career. I am very proud of my achievements this year; it's really unbelievable,” Fręch said after the match.

“Years of hard work are now paying off, and I'm very happy about it. I'll try to make this last longer,” she added.

“In the second set, the situation changed very quickly. When I missed my first match point, I told myself, 'now or never'. I had to do everything to win in two sets because Olivia was playing really well and the third set would be a huge challenge,” Fręch added.

In July, just prior to the Olympics in Paris, Fręch made her first appearance in a WTA final, losing in Prague to fellow Pole Magda Linette

In Guadalajara, she not only won her highest bonus to date, $142,000, but also climbed the world ranking from 43rd to a career-high 32nd place.
