Under Wiktorowski’s guidance, the 23-year-old won four Grand Slam singles titles, including three consecutive French Opens (2022-2024) and the 2022 US Open in New York.
“After three years of achieving the greatest successes in my career, Tomasz Wiktorowski and I have decided to part ways,” Świątek wrote on Instagram on Friday.
“His experience, analytical and strategic attitude and enormous knowledge about tennis helped us to achieve things I've never dreamed of only a few months after we started working together,” she added.
Świątek said she plannned to take a few weeks to find a new coach.
“I am currently in initial talks with non-Polish coaches as I prepare to take the next step in my career. I’ll update you once I’ve made my choice.”
The organizers of the WTA 1000 tournament in Wuhan, China, announced on X on Friday that Świątek would not play in this year’s tournament, set to begin on October 7, as she is taking time off to focus on her coaching transition, the Polish Press Agency (PAP) reported.
Swiątek has enjoyed a successful season, winning 54 of her 61 matches and, despite not competing recently, maintains the world No.1 spot. She is currently 1,069 points ahead of her nearest rival, Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus.
The Polish player is unlikely to take to the court again until the season-ending WTA Finals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which start on November 2.
